Foundation Gelijkspel was founded in 2021 from an initiative in the society: 2 citizens and 2 companies in Almelo. With the foundation they want to realize changes in society in a positive way, to stimulate more people to contribute to society. A society where everyone can be themselves.

GelijkSpel makes art projects that respond to the current-day society and stands for a society in which everyone can participate equally. Currently, that is not the case, and there are several factors which influence this. GelijkSpel wants to open up the conversation and uses art as a catalyst for social change. Gelijkspel makes theatre, music, and television and develops educational and societal-art productions.

Project description

From June 21 to July 2, theatre performances of the play DHLOMO will be performed. This play is about the South-African Darius Dhlomo. It is a musical family performance about Dhlomo’s life, in which he moves from South-Africa to Almelo. With this play, GelijkSpel wants to draw attention to equal opportunities in society.

The aim of the project will be to investigate the degree of impact of different factors on different target groups in the play’s audience. Student requirements

Are you/do you have…

• A student in either psychology or communication science?
• Fluent in either Dutch or English?
• Available 12-20 hours per week
• Interested in conducting an impact research?
