De Ree offers government agencies, museums and other organisations with historical data, systems to properly store and use these data. This includes collections on display in museums, old images from before the war and archives left over from the Dutch East Indies. De Ree’s field of work is mainly in the Netherlands and Indonesia.
Do you agree with the statement that “all answers can be found in the past?” Then this project at the leading online archive company in the Netherlands is for you! During this project you will be looking at the application of Linked Open Data. What exactly does this technology entail and how can this technology be applied in the future of the Netherlands. The Dutch government has already run a pilot, this will be the starting point of your own research! The goal of this project is to give De Ree a clear picture of the opportunities that arise from this new technology.
We are looking for a student who is very strong analytically, because a government plan can be quite confusing. Prior knowledge and/or interest in Linked Open Data is an absolute plus. In addition, a technical background and interest in history can help with the implementation of the project. The contact with the client will be low-threshold, so it is nice if you can think along with the entire process. Who knows, maybe you’ll determine the direction De Ree will take in the coming years.
Are you interested or do you have any questions? You can contact demi.pot@unipartners.nl or send a message to +31 6 50264946. You can also apply directly below, until 15 February at the latest.
*The project can be carried out in Dutch and English. So students may apply in Dutch or in English.
* Uploading an overview of your grades requires only the courses that are considered relevant for this project. So you do not have to upload your complete programme.
